About the image
This is Ubuntu 7.10("Gutsy Gibbon") for desktop usage. Have fun!
- It is a default installation of Ubuntu Gutsy, from the alternate installation CD. The usual applications (Gnome, Firefox...) are installed.
- Locale is set to English (the default); keyboard is set to American English (also the default); this can be changed in System -> Administration -> Language Support, and in System -> Preferences -> Keyboard. Timezone is set to US Eastern; this can be changed in System -> Administration -> Time and Date.
- Login/Password : freeoszoo/freeoszoo
Note about "root" access
There is no "root" account in a standard Ubuntu installation - instead, you can use the "sudo" command to gain root permissions. If sudo asks for a password, enter your normal user password (which is "freeoszoo" in this case).
See https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RootSudo for details on root access under Ubuntu.

I'm not sure how to put an image on here so I'm going to link back to This page. That page has a lot of Ubuntu pictures and info on installing and using ubuntu. It's really a great page that all of you should read.
