For suggested Qemu (qemu-system-ppc) invocation see included documentation (inside tar). You also need to use Qemu 0.9.1 or upward.

Login Credentials user: root, password: root (I suggest creation of a no-root user)

Description: Main .tar contains both disk image, a kernel archive with modules, instructions for running image with Qemu.

Image includes minimal Debian GNU/Linux 4.x (etch) console installation, updated Ocaml compiler, Midnight Commander and miscellaneous utilities (mc, gcc, g++,ocaml 10.1).

Default language: English

Kernel version: 2.4.36.1 Prep (specifically configured for Qemu, note 2.6.x cause errors running qemu)

hda disk size: 3GB (There is also a little Prep Boot partition)

Using this PPC linux image with qemu is useful for easier application develoment for embedded PPC boxes.(examples:Linkstation LS2 and Synology DS207).
